The Hispanic Leadership Institute (HLI) is a program that empowers Tulsa-area Hispanics/Latines to grow as leaders and make a difference in their communities.
Through hands-on learning, meaningful connections, and community dialogue, participants strengthen their leadership skills and deepen their understanding of local issues. HLI members also collaborate on a group project that gives back to the Tulsa region, putting what they’ve learned into action.
Purpose: To prepare and support Hispanic/Latine leaders who are ready to serve, lead, and create lasting impact across Tulsa.
Program Structure: The program is delivered with emphasis on four main concepts: group learning, experiential learning, exposure to processes and experts, and integration of Hispanic/Latine cultural identity influences.
HLI is a six-month program, with class members meeting primarily in person for sessions and a two-day retreat (with the exception of a virtual orientation and a virtual community project showcase). The cost is $600 and scholarships are available.
